Morocco is reinforcing its position as a leading partner in Africa’s digital transformation by expanding its support for cybersecurity capacity building across the continent. Speaking in Rabat during the opening of the ANCA-CERT Executive Leadership Programme in Cybersecurity, Mohamed Methqal highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to helping African nations strengthen their cyber resilience and digital capabilities.
According to Methqal, Morocco will continue to support initiatives led by the General Directorate for Information Systems Security (DGSSI) and the African Network of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), contributing expertise and technical assistance to address the growing cybersecurity challenges facing African countries.
The Moroccan official emphasized that His Majesty King Mohammed VI has placed South-South cooperation at the core of Morocco’s foreign policy, promoting a model based on solidarity, knowledge sharing, and sustainable development. This vision prioritizes human capital development and skills enhancement as key drivers of progress across the continent.
As digital transformation accelerates throughout Africa, cybersecurity has become a strategic priority within Morocco’s international cooperation programs. Through training initiatives, capacity-building projects, and the exchange of expertise, Morocco aims to help partner countries strengthen their ability to protect critical digital infrastructure and respond to emerging cyber threats.
Working alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, AMCI continues to coordinate with technical partners to implement projects that support African nations and countries across the Global South. These efforts focus on fostering innovation, developing specialized expertise, and creating networks of skilled professionals capable of addressing the challenges of the digital age.
