Indian automotive supplier Suprajit Engineering is strengthening the role of its Tangier facility as it completes the transfer of industrial activities previously carried out in Poland and Germany.
The move is part of a broader restructuring of the group’s European operations through its Stahlschmidt Cable Systems subsidiary, which specializes in control cables and systems used notably by the automotive industry.
Suprajit acquired Stahlschmidt Cable Systems in 2024 and subsequently began reorganizing its industrial footprint. SCS Polska, the group’s Polish subsidiary, was liquidated in August 2025, with part of its production activities gradually transferred to Morocco.
The restructuring has now extended to Germany. Equipment previously located at a German workshop has been relocated to Tangier, increasing the Moroccan site’s technical capabilities and expanding its role within the group’s industrial network.
The changes go beyond the relocation of production volumes. Suprajit has also adjusted its European logistics structure, including the transfer of its European warehouse to Hungary and a reduction of certain activities in Germany.
Tangier is consequently becoming a more integrated manufacturing platform for Stahlschmidt Cable Systems. The Moroccan facility produces control cables for the automotive sector and benefits from its proximity to major European markets.
The consolidation reflects a broader shift among international automotive suppliers seeking to streamline their industrial networks, improve efficiency and position production closer to key markets.
For Suprajit, the concentration of production and tooling in Tangier gives the Moroccan facility a more strategic position within its European value chain. It also reinforces Tangier’s growing importance as an industrial base for global automotive suppliers serving European markets.
