Morocco took part in the fifth edition of the “No Money for Terror” ministerial conference held in Paris under the French presidency of the G7, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation against financial crime and terrorist financing.
The Moroccan delegation was led by Nadia Fettah, who attended the international gathering alongside representatives from more than 80 countries and organizations involved in combating terrorism financing networks.
On the sidelines of the conference, Morocco’s National Financial Intelligence Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the French financial intelligence agency Tracfin. The agreement was signed by Jawhar Nfissi and Antoine Magnant in the presence of Moroccan and French officials.
According to officials, the partnership aims to reinforce international coordination in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing while helping align Morocco’s national framework with international financial security standards.
French President Emmanuel Macron closed the conference by stressing the importance of maintaining strong international cooperation against globally financed terrorist organizations. He also highlighted the Morocco-France agreement as a concrete example of continued international collaboration in this area.
Participants at the conference also discussed emerging threats linked to financial technologies, including the misuse of crypto-assets and the growing connections between organized crime and terrorism financing networks.
The “No Money for Terror” initiative was first launched in Paris in 2018 and has since expanded through international meetings held in cities including Melbourne, New Delhi and Munich.
