Marrakech has long been one of Adriana Karembeu’s favorite places, and her connection to the Moroccan city extends far beyond private stays. Alongside businessman Aram Ohanian, the former model helped create the Palais Ronsard, an exclusive hotel in the Palmeraie that combines Moroccan, Oriental and Tuscan influences.
The luxury property opened in March 2019 after an ambitious project that initially had a very different purpose. The couple had originally imagined building a private home in Marrakech, but the plans grew as more rooms were added to accommodate friends and family. Karembeu eventually joked that Ohanian might as well build a hotel.
That idea became the Palais Ronsard, now designed as a secluded retreat away from the busiest parts of Marrakech. Located a few kilometers from Jemaa el-Fna, the property is part of the Relais & Châteaux collection and was designed to offer an intimate experience rather than the feel of a conventional large resort.
Its identity is built around highly individualized interiors. Art Deco elements sit alongside Moroccan, Oriental and Tuscan details, with the owners deliberately avoiding a uniform design. Karembeu has described the concept by emphasizing that no two rooms are alike.
The hotel has 28 keys, including six private pavilions with their own swimming pools, surrounded by extensive gardens. The rooms and bathrooms are notably spacious, while Guerlain products are provided as part of the guest experience.
The price reflects that positioning. According to rates cited in 2025, a night in a Prestige Room of around 60 square meters started at €500. At the top end, the 175-square-meter Grand Pavillon could reach €1,495 per night, offering a considerably more exclusive stay.
Accommodation is only part of the experience. Guests can also access an outdoor swimming pool, hammam, jacuzzi, gym and spa, while the hotel’s dining offering includes Le Jardin d’Hiver, where Moroccan and Mediterranean influences meet.
The restaurant’s setting was also recognized internationally, receiving a Prix Versailles for its décor in 2020.
For Marrakech, the Palais Ronsard is another example of how the city’s luxury hospitality scene increasingly combines Moroccan architectural references with international design codes. For Karembeu, it is also the result of a personal project that evolved from the idea of a private residence into one of the city’s most exclusive boutique hotels.
