Glovo Deepens Its Ties With Morocco’s Banking Sector

Glovo Morocco is expanding its role within the country’s banking ecosystem through a series of partnerships focused on customer acquisition, digital onboarding, service activation and loyalty.

The delivery platform is seeking to go beyond its traditional role by offering banks access to its digital audience and media ecosystem. The objective is to support financial institutions as they adapt their services to changing customer habits.

Several initiatives have already been launched with major Moroccan banks.

With Attijariwafa bank, Glovo supported Bankalik through an instant discount applied when customers paid with an eligible bank card. Another initiative with Simple by Attijariwafa bank allows users to order their bank card directly through Glovo and have it delivered to their home.

Customers can then continue the account-opening and verification process online using a QR code. This creates a digital journey that connects banking services with everyday platform usage.

Other banks have adopted different approaches.

Banque Populaire has used the platform to promote its temporary virtual cards. Al Barid Bank launched a cashback mechanism for EZY cardholders. BMCI, meanwhile, combined cashback with the customer’s first payment.

Saham Bank also used Glovo’s media inventory to promote its digital account-opening journey.

For Glovo Morocco, these partnerships reflect the growing connection between digital consumption and financial services. The platform sees its technology, customer base and digital channels as potential tools for banks seeking new ways to engage customers.

“Everyday digital habits are creating new points of contact between banks and their customers,” said Hamza Naciri Bennani, Managing Director of Glovo Morocco.

He added that Glovo wants to use its capabilities to support these customer journeys and develop partnerships that address banks’ growth objectives and changing customer expectations.
