Morocco is strengthening its regional tourism strategy by improving international air connectivity to Ouarzazate and Dakhla. The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), in partnership with Transavia, has announced additional direct flights from Paris-Orly to both destinations, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to diversify its tourism offering.
Starting this summer, Ouarzazate will be served by three direct flights per week from Paris-Orly, operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The additional frequency is expected to make travel easier for French visitors, one of Morocco’s largest inbound tourism markets.
The expanded schedule will remain in place until October 31, 2026. ONMT and Transavia are already discussing extending the additional service into the winter season, with the goal of making the increased connectivity a permanent feature of the destination’s air network.
The initiative reflects ONMT’s broader strategy of promoting tourism growth across all regions of Morocco. By improving access to Ouarzazate, often considered the gateway to southern Morocco, the tourism authority aims to support local businesses while attracting travelers seeking cultural, desert and outdoor experiences.
Dakhla is also benefiting from the strengthened partnership. The coastal destination will now be connected to Paris-Orly by three direct weekly flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The increased capacity is expected to support the city’s growing reputation as an international destination for water sports, eco-tourism and nature-based travel.
According to ONMT, the simultaneous expansion of services to Ouarzazate and Dakhla demonstrates Transavia’s confidence in Morocco’s tourism potential and highlights the strong cooperation between the airline and the national tourism office.
The new routes form part of a wider strategy to improve accessibility to destinations that have historically received fewer international flights. Alongside marketing campaigns and the development of new tourism experiences, enhanced air connectivity remains a key pillar of Morocco’s long-term tourism growth strategy.
Through these investments, ONMT aims to strengthen the international visibility of every region of Morocco, improve access from major European markets and promote more balanced, sustainable and inclusive tourism development across the Kingdom.
