Workplace Safety Campaign Results
The Health Unit has released preliminary results of a workplace safety campaign conducted over the weekend by the Health Unit and other agencies including the Ministry of Labour.
Health Unit CEO Theresa Marentette says seventeen compliance officers visited 240 workplaces and nearly 80 per cent were in compliance with public health measures.
Marentette says the campaign targeted retail including big box stores in the Windsor and Leamington area, along with restaurants.
She says tickets, warnings and referrals were given to some businesses and the top top areas needing improvement included screening for COVID-19, physical distancing, and having safety plans in place.
