After a long investigation the RCMP have arrested and charged two men in relation to the murder of Troy Watson on the Mistawasis First Nation on Nov. 17, 2020.

Police say the Saskatchewan Major Crime Unit along with Yorkton General Investigation Services, Shellbrook, Meadow Lake, and Prince Albert detachments have arrested Roy Lasas and a second man who cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Lasas, who is from the Mistawasis First Nation has been charged with second degree murder and the second man from the First Nation who was a minor at the time of the incident was also charged with second degree murder.

They have both been remanded and appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday morning. Lasas was adjourned to Jan. 24 and the second man will be back in court on Friday, Jan. 14.
