Raja Casablanca has appointed Spanish coach Paco Jémez as the new manager of its first team, marking a fresh start on the bench after the departure of Tunisian coach Nassereddine Nabi. The Moroccan club officially confirmed the change on Monday evening.
Jémez arrives with extensive experience in Spanish football, having managed several clubs including Rayo Vallecano, Las Palmas, Granada, Córdoba and Ibiza. His coaching career has also taken him outside Spain, most notably to Iran, where he worked with Tractor.
The Spaniard has also worked in the Premier League environment as an assistant to Nuno Espírito Santo during the Portuguese coach’s time at West Ham. His varied experience across different football cultures was among the factors behind Raja’s decision to place him in charge, according to the information reported by Hespress.
The appointment comes immediately after Raja announced the end of Nabi’s tenure. The club said the Tunisian coach’s departure was handled in accordance with the contractual arrangements between the two parties.
For Raja, the arrival of Jémez represents an opportunity to inject a different coaching approach into the team. The Spanish manager now takes charge of a club with high expectations and a demanding domestic environment, where results and performances are closely scrutinized.
