Prince Albert Police have reported the city’s first homicide of 2022.

Just before 4 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a weapons call in the 200 block of 13th Street East.

When officers arrived at the home, members found a 20-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken by paramedics to Victoria Hospital but later died.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man at this time.

Investigators believe this was not a random attack and are asking any residents of the area to check their video surveillance systems for suspicious activity between 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, and 5 a.m. on Jan 1.

Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact Prince Albert Police or Crime Stoppers.
