Morocco is calling on public institutions and private companies to make arrangements that allow employees to exercise their right to vote in the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026.
The Head of Government has asked public administrations, public establishments and enterprises, as well as local government councils, to provide the necessary facilities for civil servants, executives and employees to reach polling stations.
The measure follows Circular No. 2026/14, issued on September 1. The circular calls on heads of public administrations, directors of public establishments and presidents of local government councils to organize working arrangements that allow staff to participate in the election without affecting the continuity of public services.
The government has emphasized that the objective is to enable employees to fulfill what it describes as their national civic duty while ensuring that essential administrative services continue to operate normally.
The appeal also extends to the private sector. Business leaders have been urged to take appropriate measures to give their employees the opportunity to vote on election day.
The government considers these arrangements part of efforts to uphold civic participation during the 2026 legislative elections. Companies and public bodies are therefore expected to balance operational requirements with employees’ ability to participate in the vote.
The legislative elections are scheduled for September 23, when Moroccan voters will be called to choose the members of the House of Representatives.
