Coronavirus: Dr. Deena Hinshaw to provide Alberta COVID-19 update Tuesday

Alberta’s top doctor is slated to give an update on COVID-19 in the province Thursday afternoon.

On Wednesday, the province announced Calgary-area schools would be moving temporarily to remote learning for grades 7 to 12 for two weeks as requested by school boards. Both Edmonton’s public and Catholic schools confirmed to Postmedia that they have not made similar requests.

Alberta reported 1,412 new cases of COVID-19, 778 new variant cases and eight additional deaths Wednesday. Currently, 420 Albertans are hospitalized due to the virus with 92 of those in intensive care.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw will speak at 3:30 p.m.
