Premier Jason Kenney has confirmed the province’s first COVID-19 vaccine will be given in Calgary and Edmonton on Tuesday.

Kenney made the announcement Tuesday morning following reports tweeted earlier in the day by his Executive Director of communications.

Kenney said the first vaccine will be given at 4:00 p.m. in Edmonton and Calgary.

Alberta’s plan is to have 29,000 healthcare workers vaccinated by the end of the month.

The first 3,900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine officially landed at Calgary International Airport on Monday night.
