RCMP: Cyclist dies after collision with dump truck driver

A cyclist has died after they were hit by a commercial vehicle in North Vancouver Monday morning.

According to the North Vancouver RCMP, the crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street.

Officers were on their way to another call when they “came upon” the collision, adding a woman was found with “significant” injuries.

Despite life-saving measures from officers at the scene, police say she was later pronounced dead.

The RCMP has identified the cyclist as a woman in her 40s from North Vancouver.

Police say the driver involved in the crash is cooperating with them. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw what happened or who has video of the area at the time of the crash to call the North Vancouver RCMP at (604) 985-1311 and quote file 23-4384.
