The Saskatchewan RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who may have been abducted in Regina, as well as the man whom police believe is involved.

On Saturday, a person called the Regina Police Service and reported receiving what police called “a concerning message” on Facebook from Stephanie Bruch, a 30-year-old woman from Regina.

The Regina police contacted the Saskatchewan RCMP. The Mounties’ investigation identified a suspect and his vehicle, and a search began involving officers from the Saskatchewan RCMP canine unit, the Melville, Wynyard, Fort Qu’Appelle and Punnichy detachments, and the Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Kelly Baht, who is described as 6-foot-0 and 158 pounds with a medium build, light brown hair and blue eyes.

Just before 3:40 p.m., Baht’s vehicle was found abandoned in a field off Highway 10 near Ituna. Neither Bruch nor Baht was found with the vehicle.

Investigators believe Baht was in Melville earlier in the afternoon.

Just after 3:15 p.m., the Melville RCMP got a call about a man going through a woman’s car outside her home. After the woman confronted him, the man got into an older white or light grey small truck and left. The truck had a small quad/ATV in the box.
