Police: Owner of mobility scooter lost on Dallas Road found deceased

The owner of an electric mobility scooter and personal belongings left abandoned along Dallas Road has been found deceased, Victoria police say.

The person’s remains were located Tuesday in the 3100-block of Rutland Avenue in Oak Bay, VicPD says in a news release.

“Officers have notified the person’s family and have offered our condolences for their loss,” according to police.

On Saturday, officers asked anyone who recognized the scooter, slippers or a pendant to come forward after a passerby found the items at the beach near Olympia Avenue.

Police shared photos of the items and, at the time, said they were concerned for the owner’s well-being.

VicPD says the person’s death is considered non-suspicious at this time.
