Newfoundland and Labrador Reports 64th Death Due To COVID-19

Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting another death today due to COVID-19.

The latest victim, a man in his 80s in the Central Health region, is the 64th person to die as a result of the virus in the province.

Meanwhile, there are 18 people in hospital due to COVID, with six of them in critical care.

The province is also reporting 200 new recoveries; 137 in the Eastern Health region, 32 in the Central Health region, 21 in the Western Health region and 10 in the Labrador-Grenfell region.

There are a total of 494 new confirmed cases since Monday, including 248 today and 246 from Tuesday.

Officials say there are 1,824 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
