Public Health Sudbury & Districts reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Late Thursday, the health unit reported four new cases (numbers 193 to 196). All are from Greater Sudbury; one is a close contact of a known case, one is outbreak related, and two remain under investigation.

All are following Public Health direction and are self-isolating.

Earlier Thursday, the health unit reported two more cases, both are from Greater Sudbury, and they are close contacts of a known case. The individuals are following Public Health direction and are currently self-isolating.

Growth in COVID-19 cases in parts of Ontario, meanwhile, likely exceeds several European countries now in lockdown, new modelling shows.

The province reported a record 1,575 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

Public health officials released updated modelling Thursday that shows worsening indicators although the situation varies widely depending on the region.

“At a 5 per cent rate of growth, our case numbers likely exceed several jurisdictions in Europe that are now in some form of lockdown,” the modelling report says.
