Coronavirus: Manitobans grapple with ‘lost’ immunization records

Alberta has identified 170 new COVID-19 cases following nearly 6,700 tests.

It’s a positive numbers report to cap off a week that was filled with positive announcements on the COVID-19 front in the province.

Alberta’s positivity rate hovered around 2.8 per cent over the last day.

Hospitalizations also saw a drop, with 296 people now fighting the virus in hospital, and 79 people in the ICU.

There were an additional three deaths reported Friday.

Along with the new case numbers, active infections in Alberta decreased by nearly 300, with just 3,529 active cases as of Friday afternoon.

As for vaccinations, 55,831 vaccines were administered over the last day, with 12,996 being first doses.

So far, 68.2 per cent of Alberta’s eligible population has now been vaccinated with at least one dose.
