Model-turned-actress Camila Morrone isn’t bothered by the 23-year age gap between herself and boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio.
However, their age difference isn’t entirely surprising, given that Leo has never public dated anybody who is over the age of 25, but people have been particularly interested in Camila and Leo’s relationship after it was revealed the pair met when Camila was 10 years old, through her stepdad Al Pacino.
Camila has now addressed the attention on her and Leo’s age gap in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, saying, “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”
The Mickey and the Bear actress admitted she understands why people take an interest in the age gap and that “I probably would be curious about it too.”
Camila added that she hopes to be recognised for her career and not just her boyfriend in the future. She said, “I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I’m slowly getting an identity outside of that, which is frustrating, because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating.
“I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation.”
