Cambridge man dead after vehicle hits construction equipment

A 38-year-old Cambridge man is dead after a single-vehicle collision in west Galt.

Waterloo Region police reported to the overnight collision on May 22 at 7:15 a.m. in the area of Bismark Drive and Westcliff Way.

Police said through the initial investigation, it was determined a Kia Optima was being driven east on Bismark Drive in an area under construction. The Kia left the roadway and struck a piece of construction equipment.

The driver and lone occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
