British Columbia confirms 358 new cases of COVID-19, 57 in Island Health

British Columbia health officials have reported 358 new cases and no new deaths from COVID-19 since their last update on Monday.

The number of confirmed cases in B.C. climbs to 218,426 while the province’s death toll stands at 2,333.

Of the new cases, 53 were recorded in Vancouver Coastal Health, 107 were in Fraser Health, 57 in Island Health, 85 in Interior Health, and 56 in Northern Health.

There are currently 2,889 active cases in the province and 300 people in hospital — 104 of whom are in intensive care.

A total of 213,053 people in B.C. have recovered from COVID-19 while 8,688,112 doses of vaccine have been administered province-wide.
