Nvidia is expanding its presence in Morocco’s emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure sector, confirming its involvement in two projects aimed at developing large-scale computing capacity in the Kingdom.
The most advanced initiative is the Nexus AI Factory, planned in Nouaceur, near Casablanca. The facility is expected to be developed in several phases through 2027, with a targeted capacity of up to 500 megawatts.
An initial budget of $1.2 billion has been announced for the project. This amount refers to the overall initial financing of the initiative and does not represent a direct investment by Nvidia.
The project brings together several partners, including Nexus Core Systems, Naver Cloud and Lloyd Capital. Nvidia’s role focuses on the technology infrastructure, with its Blackwell-generation processors expected to power the planned AI computing facilities.
The development comes as Morocco seeks to strengthen its position in the digital economy and attract infrastructure capable of supporting increasingly demanding AI applications. Large-scale computing facilities require substantial power capacity, advanced cooling systems and high-performance processors, making the project significantly different from conventional data-center developments.
For Morocco, the deployment of such infrastructure could also support the growth of cloud computing and AI services for companies operating in the region. The phased approach planned for the Nexus AI Factory is intended to progressively increase its computing capacity as the project advances.
The confirmation of Nvidia’s involvement places its technology within two Moroccan AI infrastructure initiatives and adds another major international technology player to the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
