JAECOO is preparing to introduce the J5 compact SUV to the Moroccan market, with the model positioned between everyday urban driving and outdoor use.
The upcoming vehicle combines a compact format with features designed for occasional off-road conditions. JAECOO says the J5 will come with independent suspension from the entry-level version, while its announced water-wading capability reaches 450 millimeters.
The SUV also features a 540-degree panoramic vision system and a hill descent control function. According to the manufacturer, the model has undergone two million kilometers of reliability testing, while its torsional rigidity is rated at 23,500 Nm per degree.
Inside, the J5 focuses on practicality as well as comfort. Its panoramic roof covers 1.45 square meters, while more than 35 storage compartments are available throughout the cabin.
Luggage capacity stands at 480 liters and can increase to 1,180 liters with the rear seats folded. JAECOO has also equipped the model with features such as a removable camping lamp and a karaoke mode, alongside materials designed to be easier to clean and more resistant to scratches.
The international configuration also includes Level 2 driver assistance, supported by 19 functions. However, JAECOO has not yet confirmed which of these features will be available on the Moroccan version.
The brand is also developing its SHS hybrid technology for the J5. International figures indicate a 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds, a fuel consumption figure of 6 liters per 100 kilometers in charge-sustaining operation and a combined range exceeding 1,200 kilometers under the WLTP cycle.
These performance figures have not yet been confirmed for the Moroccan market.
JAECOO is expected to reveal the Moroccan specifications at the official launch, including the available powertrains, trim levels, equipment and pricing.
