Hicham El Habti, president of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), has been appointed secretary general of Morocco’s OCP Group.
Working under the leadership of OCP President and CEO Mostafa Terrab, El Habti will support the implementation of the group’s operational strategy. His responsibilities will focus on strengthening execution and coordinating strategic priorities across the organization.
The appointment comes as OCP advances a new strategic roadmap. The plan emphasizes industrial ecosystem development, scientific innovation and the expansion of the group’s global phosphate product portfolio.
El Habti has been part of the OCP ecosystem since 2013. During his career, he has held several senior positions, including roles within the general secretariat and innovation division.
He became president of UM6P in 2020, after previously serving as the university’s secretary general. His new position is expected to reinforce cooperation between academic research, scientific innovation and industrial development.
An engineer trained at École Polytechnique and École des Ponts et Chaussées, El Habti also holds a doctorate from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) in Paris.
