Two dead following plane crash in Labrador (Police)

Two people are dead following a plane crash in western Labrador Saturday morning.

In a news release issue Sunday night, Dec. 5, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said it received a report the previous morning of a plane crashing in the Juniper Lake area. The two occupants of the plane were located at the lake and confirmed dead at the scene.

Police are now assisting Transport Canada and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in an investigation into the crash.

Members of Labrador West Ground Search and Rescue, Iron Ore Company security, local paramedics and the Labrador City Fire Department’s cold water rescue team were also involved in responding to the incident.
