One dead in crash on Gardiner near Royal York

A man is dead following a crash on the Gardiner Expressway in Etobicoke on Thursday morning.

Toronto Police say at 9:21 a.m., officers were called to a collision in the westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway near Royal York Rd.

Police say a 27-year-old was driving a 2017 white Honda Accord, travelling westbound at a high rate of speed, when he lost control and collided with a flatbed truck.

The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Services continues to investigate.
