A serious crime has occurred in Valleyview early Sunday morning (Mar. 12).

In a news release by Kamloops RCMP, officers were called over to the 1800-block of the East Trans Canada Highway around 8:25 a.m. on a report of a person who was struck by a vehicle.

“A police presence remains in the area as officers continue to collect evidence and information related to what transpired, including details about how the report came in and if a vehicle was present in the area.” Evelyn said in a statement.

Photos sent to CFJC News Sunday morning show five RCMP vehicles present at the Tournament Inn in Valleyview. Photos sent to CFJC show yellow tape was installed around parts of the hotel.
