Attawfiq Microfinance has added a new international milestone to its record after being awarded the MSI 20000 certification, a globally recognized standard that assesses the financial quality and governance practices of companies and institutions. The certification was granted by independent certification body COFICERT during an official ceremony held at Euronext Paris.
The achievement highlights the Moroccan microfinance institution’s commitment to maintaining high standards of financial management, transparency and operational governance. MSI 20000 evaluates organizations on a range of financial performance indicators, including risk management, asset control, liquidity management, profitability and overall governance.
By securing the certification, Attawfiq Microfinance demonstrates the strength of its financial framework while reinforcing its long-term strategy of combining sustainable growth with responsible governance. The recognition is also expected to strengthen confidence among investors, funding partners and customers.
Commenting on the achievement, Hicham Kharrou, Chief Executive Officer of Attawfiq Microfinance, said the certification reflects the institution’s commitment to international best practices in financial governance and supports its mission of expanding financial inclusion across Morocco.
A subsidiary of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) Group, Attawfiq Microfinance has been supporting entrepreneurship and economic inclusion in the Kingdom for more than 25 years.
