A woman is in custody after a multi-vehicle crash in Brampton Thursday morning that left a man dead, police say

Peel Regional Police said emergency crews were called to the collision in the area of Main Street North and Vodden Street East around 8:30 a.m.

“Upon emergency services arrival, we learned that it was a four-vehicle collision and an adult male was transported to local hospital by ambulance in life-threatening condition,” Const. Donna Maurice told reporters at the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

Maurice said a woman was taken into custody in relation to the crash and charges are pending.

It’s not clear how exactly she may have been involved in the incident or what charges she may face.

Maurice said the intersection would be closed for “a number of hours” as investigators process the scene.

“We are asking anybody who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact our investigators if they heard or saw anything,” Maurice added.

“Or anybody in the area who may have been driving by with dashcam video, if they can contact our investigators or if they wish to remain anonymous they can contact Crime Stoppers.”
