Morocco and Jordan are moving to strengthen their long-standing relationship as senior officials from both countries met in Amman to discuss new avenues for cooperation and regional coordination.

During talks with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reviewed ways to expand bilateral collaboration and reinforce coordination mechanisms across a range of sectors.

The discussions focused on preparations for the sixth session of the Moroccan-Jordanian Joint High Commission, expected to take place later this year. Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the meeting delivers concrete outcomes capable of advancing economic, political and institutional cooperation.

Officials highlighted the strong momentum characterizing relations between the two kingdoms, which have evolved into a multidimensional strategic partnership under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II.

Beyond bilateral ties, the ministers exchanged views on key regional developments and stressed the importance of continued consultation on issues affecting the Middle East and North Africa. They reaffirmed their commitment to promoting stability, security and development through closer diplomatic coordination.

The meeting was attended by senior Moroccan diplomats, including Morocco’s Ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif, and Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Mohamed Ait Ouali.

Bourita’s visit to Jordan also included participation in meetings of Arab foreign ministers and the ministerial session of the League of Arab States, where regional challenges and priorities were discussed.
